About MedTravel Colombia

MedTravel Colombia exists because the people most likely to fly to Medellín for a new set of teeth or a tummy tuck have the least neutral information to work with. The search results are clinics describing themselves and facilitators selling packages. We publish the layer in between: what clinics actually charge, how to check the person holding the scalpel, and what the risks and the fine print look like.

01What we publish

• Prices clinics publish themselves, each linked to its source page and dated. We never average, estimate or invent a price.
• Verification guides for the public registers Colombia runs: ReTHUS for health professionals, REPS for licensed providers, and the Colombian Society of Plastic Surgery’s directory.
• Safety data with its limits stated — including who funded or authored a study and what a travel advisory actually says.
• Travel information for the part of a treatment trip that happens outside the clinic.

We are not a clinic, a hospital, a medical provider or a travel agency. We don’t diagnose, recommend a specific treatment for you, or sell insurance. Nothing here replaces an examination by a licensed clinician — see our medical disclaimer.

03Medical review

Procedure pages are written by our editorial team from primary sources — clinic price pages, peer-reviewed studies, the CDC, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and Colombian government registers — and every source is listed at the foot of the page. When a page has been reviewed by a licensed clinician, the reviewer’s name and credentials appear in its byline. We never show a “reviewed by” line that hasn’t happened.

04How we’re funded

We may be paid when a reader asks for quotes from a clinic through this site or books travel through a partner. Clinics cannot pay to be listed, ranked or described more favorably, and the prices we show are the ones they publish. Full details are on our disclosure page.

05Corrections

Prices change and registers get updated. If you find a figure that no longer matches its source, the correction goes in with the date it was made. Clinic prices are re-checked at least twice a year; the date on each page tells you when.
