How we verify clinics, doctors and prices

A comparison site in medicine earns trust only if its rules are written down and it follows them when it costs money to. These are ours.

01Prices

• Every price comes from a clinic’s own website, or from a listing the clinic appears on, and is linked to that page.
• Every price table states the date we saw it. We re-check at least twice a year.
• We publish what the price includes and what it doesn’t, as the clinic states it.
• US comparisons are labeled with their scope — for example, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons publishes surgeon’s fees only, which excludes anesthesia and the operating room.
• If a clinic doesn’t publish a price, we say so. We don’t fill the gap with an estimate.

02Doctors and dentists

• Before we pass a reader’s inquiry to a clinic, its treating doctors must be findable in ReTHUS, Colombia’s national register of health professionals, with no sanctions shown.
• Plastic surgeons must also be members of the Sociedad Colombiana de Cirugía Plástica, Estética y Reconstructiva (SCCP).
• The clinic must be registered as a health provider in REPS.
• We state credentials only when we can point to where they’re recorded.

03Independence

• No clinic can pay to be listed, ranked or described differently. We don’t publish rankings.
• Clinics that pay us for patient inquiries follow the same rules as clinics that don’t, and a payment relationship never changes what we write about safety or risk.
• We don’t publish testimonials, reviews or before-and-after photos we can’t verify.

04Risk and evidence

• Safety claims cite peer-reviewed studies or official bodies (CDC, ASPS, Colombian Ministry of Health), and we disclose when a study was written by a clinic’s own surgeons.
• Government travel advisories are reported as written, including the parts that are unflattering to Colombia.
• We never describe an outcome as guaranteed.
